Printing Basics

The Basics

  • To use Papercut, just login with your student id and password.
  • When you enter TCTC, you are a $10.00 printing credit is added to your student account and is linked directly to PaperCut.
  • Each black and white copy or print you make is debited four cents.
  • Each color copy or print you make is eight cents.
  • If you use up your $10.00, you may add money at the Library Cafe and Bookstore.

Some special features of Papercut

  • Print jobs are not sent to a specific printer.
  • Pick up your job at any printer on campus.
  • Print from your laptops or mobile devices
  • Campus printers are multi-purpose: make photocopies, scan to your email or USB drive, or print from your USB drive.
  • Keep track of all of your printing activity: print jobs waiting, recent print jobs, account balance,and even your environmental impact on trees, carbon, energy.

How to print from the library
  • Print from your document as you always would.
  • When the Papercut login box pops up, enter your eTc username and password.
  • Go to any printer on campus to print your document.
  • At the printer, enter either your eTc login information or your T number.
  • All of your print jobs will be listed.
  • Print jobs will be stored for four hours.
  • Choose the jobs you want to print (or choose "Print All").
  • Be sure to logout after your documents are printed.

By default, all print jobs are printed on both sides of the paper. To override the default setting, follow these directions:

Printing a web page

  • Click on the printer properties button.
  • Select one-sided printing.

Printing from Microsoft word

The "print one-sided" check box in Word's printing pop-up options in Word does not work.

  • Instead, you must click on the small link that says "printer properties."
  • Chose one-sided.

  • Make sure you are connected to the campus wifi connection.
  • Log into PaperCut.
  • On the left panel of the menu, choose "web print."
  • Click on "submit job."
  • Papercut will guide you through the steps to upload your document from there.
